HOME Bargains and M&S Food will be moving into the £10million revamped White City Retail Park in Old Trafford this spring.

The discount chain store has agreed with Derwent Group to take a 14,140 sq ft unit (Unit 14) on a 15 year lease and comes hot on the heels on the M&S Foodhall (formerly M&S Simply Food) letting.

M&S Foodhall, which also agreed to a 15 year lease, will be moving into a 12,000 sq ft unit at the Chester Road retail park and is scheduled to open in spring, whilst Home Bargains will open just after Easter.

The superstores join tenants Currys, Dreams, Furniture Villages, Halfords, Sofaworks, SCS and a Costa Drive-Thru.

“Home Bargains is a welcome addition to White City’s tenant mix,” said James Maule-Ffinch, senior asset manager at Derwent Group.

“M&S Foodhall, being such a recognised, quality brand, committing to White City Retail Park as well as two other locations in the Derwent group portfolio shows great confidence in our retail parks. The retail offer for customers at White City is much enhanced with this latest food store signing.”

White City has undergone a £10m transformation recently. Derwent is also in negotiations with further tenants and is expected to announce these lettings in the next few weeks.

James added: “The refurbishment work we’ve undertaken is paying real dividends and some really exciting retailers are already in negotiations for the last remaining units at the park.”

Following the multi-million pound redevelopment, White City Park now boasts 210,570sq ft of retail space and 658 free car parking spaces.
