SALE High School launched an appeal last term for items to help homeless people living on Manchester’s streets.
The school worked in partnership with Mad Dogs Street project, an organisation staffed entirely by volunteers to collect practical items such as hats, scarves and toiletries to help the homeless particularly over the winter months.
In total the school donated more than 500 items which were delivered by Mad Dogs over the festive period. The school recently received a thank you letter from a 59-year-old homeless woman, personally thanking the children for the items she had received.
