URMSTON Choral to present A Jazzy Christmas AT St Monica's Church, Flixton, on December 9 at 7.30pm.
The Society will be ringing the changes when they perform A Little Jazz Mass by Bob Chilcott as part of their Christmas spectacular this year. Joined by the Jacqui Podoski Jazz Band, the Mass embraces a variety of light-hearted jazz styles which bring a different facet to religious music.
Urmston Choral’s musical director, Julie Parker said: “This concert is a new departure from the usual Christmas music we perform but one which we think our audience will really appreciate and enjoy. While we’re retaining some of those special songs which Choirs have sung for centuries, we’re also including pieces which put a new slant on old favourites.”
