A MARATHON runner from Sale is being urged on by the Christie, just days before the Greater Manchester Marathon takes place.

Joshua Jones is running the Greater Manchester Marathon along with almost 270 others from Team Christie on Sunday.

They are raising money for the Christie, one of Europe’s top cancer centres, treating around 44,000 people each year in Greater Manchester and beyond.

Joshua is running for The Christie because a number of people in his family have had cancer including his auntie, grandma's sister and girlfriend's mother, all of whom were treated at the Christie.

Online entries for the Greater Manchester Marathon are now closed. There are a limited number of on-site entries available on Saturday 18th April - no entries are possible on Sunday 19th April.

To get an entry on Saturday the 18th April, visit the race information tent on the E2 car park at MUFC Stadium, Old Trafford. On site entries are £60 and must be paid in cash, as cards are not accepted on site. To reserve your on-site entry, call 0161 928 6795.
