TIMPERLEY’S first purpose-built development designed for adults with learning and physical disabilities to live independently has officially opened.

Brindley Moss, on Deansgate Lane, is a £1.5 million development consisting of 12 apartments.

The flats were designed in partnership with Inclusion Housing CIC and Lifeways Community Care and delivered by Altrincham-based supported living specialist HB Villages.

The idea behind Brindley Moss is to provide a safe environment for Trafford adults with learning and physical disabilities, allowing them to live independently and give them the freedom to manage their own home, budgets and lifestyle with support where needed.

The Mayor of Trafford, councillor Ejaz Malik, and deputy leader of the council, Michael Young, were joined by all partners involved in the project to celebrate the topping out of this progressive scheme.

Paul Marriner, chief executive of Lifeways, said: “Lifeways is delighted to be part of such an exciting and innovative development.

"From the overall building design to the design and layout of each individual home, Brindley Moss has been developed to accommodate the individual needs of every tenant."

David de Silva, chief executive of Inclusion Housing, said: “Brindley Moss is a fantastic example of what can be achieved through innovative partnership working between statutory, not for profit and private sectors.

"Inclusion Housing is proud to be part of this scheme and the best bit, is yet to come – welcoming the tenants into their new homes.

"We look forward to working in partnership with Lifeways and Trafford Council in making this a valued resource for years to come.”

Jonathan Wrigley, Director of HB Villages, said: “Brindley Moss will promote personalisation for vulnerable adults in the Timperley area. It will give them the choice to live where they want to, independently and in a safe environment. It’s fantastic to see this development taking shape and I look forward to returning over the next few months and meeting the people who will proudly call Brindley Moss home.”
