Hale Civic Society launches search for May Day 'royalty'

HALE Civic Society is on track to stage a major community event - and the search is on for ‘royalty’ to spearhead the celebrations.
On May 12, Hale wil be the centre of major celebrations to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the railway arriving in the village.
As part of the celebrations the society has decided to elect a Hale May Queen and a Hale May King.
Young people aged between seven and 14 are invited to send in applications, the closing date is March 30.
To enter individuals have to :1. Write about themselves; 2. Write a short story about the May King And Queen visiting Hale Station in the past 150 years; 3. Include contact details and date of birth.
Entries should to be sent to 18 Sunnybank Road, Bowdon WA14 3PW. The finalists will be notified by April 15. Judging will be on April 21 and crowning will take place on May 12.
