Labour MP Kate Green reveals 1,213 hit by ‘bedroom tax’ in Stretford and Urmston
12:00pm Wednesday 20th March 2013 in News
KATE Green MP has revealed National Housing Federation figures which show 1,213 people in her Stretford and Urmston constituency will be hit by the government’s ‘bedroom tax’, losing on average £728 per year.
She said the major changes to housing benefit payments, which come into force in April, will hit 660,000 households nationally.
Kate Green said: “Two thirds of the households hit include someone with a disability. Families of soldiers who are serving away from home and foster parents will also be hit.”
