TWO fire engines were deployed to Cross Street, Sale, following a collision between two cars.
Firefighters freed one of the drivers from a black Citroen with hydraulic cutting equipment and she was taken to Manchester Royal Hospital by ambulance.
The other driver, who was also female, was able to walk to an ambulance for treatment.
The crews from Stretford and Altrincham stations were called at around 10am this morning, following reports of an accident at the junction of Glebelands Road and Cross Street.
A police car is stationed further along Cross Street and traffic is being controlled.
A queue has formed along Glebelands Road so drivers are advised to avoid where possible.
