THE new year has brought job joy for a group of hard-working Christmas temps at a Stretford store.

Half of the Christmas temporary staff employed to cope with the festive rush at Quality Save in Stretford Mall have had their contracts extended for 2013, meaning four new jobs.

One of the delighted recipients of a new work contract was Ashleigh Westwood, 20, of Urmston who was unemployed for six months before taking her initial temp job with Quality Save in November last year.

Ashleigh said: “When I heard I was staying on at Quality Save beyond my initial temporary contract which finished on Christmas Eve, I was so pleased.

“It really made my Christmas and it was so reassuring to know I had a job to come back to in the new year.”

Ashleigh’s manager Gavin Robertson, who is in charge at Quality Save, said: “It was a nice feeling to be able to deliver this new year job joy news to so many of our Christmas temps and extend the job contracts for half of the people we took on.”
