Rubbish set on fire, believed to be the work of youths with matches

FIREFIGHTERS were called to two separate incidents of rubbish being set alight in Trafford over the weekend.

In the first instance, a fire crew was called to Talbot Road, Stretford, at around 8.20pm on January 18.

Upon arrival, the crew from Stretford Fire Station found that some rubbish had been set on fire on land behind the houses and extinguished the blaze with a hose reel.

The next day at 5.50pm, a crew from Stretford was called to Woodsend Circle, Flixton, following reports of a small fire in the open.

A bin had been set alight, which Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service believe had been started deliberately by youths with matches.

Again, the crew used a hose reel to extinguish the blaze.
