Deep fat fryer fire at Altrincham chip shop

FIREFIGHTERS were called to Ocean Fish Bar in Altrincham yesterday after the deep fat fryer caught fire.

Crews from Sale and Altrincham stations were called to the Regent Road chip shop at around 2pm, but arrived to find that the blaze had already been put out.

Firefighters made the area safe and dispersed the residual smoke with a high pressure fan.

It is thought the fire was started accidentally.
