VOLUNTEERS from McDonald's at Trafford Retail Park, Davyhulme, carried out a litter pick in the area, supported by Trafford Council.
The company carried out the tidy up along Barton Road, on the edge of Broadway Park, following complaints that customers throw their fast food litter onto the road and pavement after visiting the outlet.
Executive councillor Jonathan Coupe said: “It is heartening to see businesses offering their time to support our communities, and proves that when we work together, we can really make a difference to the local environment.
"I would urge visitors to the area to help keep Trafford tidy, by making sure that you always take your rubbish home with you.”
Harriet Busby, of McDonald's, said: “McDonalds supports the Keep Britain Tidy Love Where You Live campaign and are committed to offering on-going support throughout 2012 to the local community.
"McDonalds sponsors Urmston Town Girls' Football Club and sees the importance of engaging with the local people. We do four events quarterly to improve the local area and may do more in the future. The latest event went really well and we would like to thank everyone who took part.”
