VOLUNTEERS from the recently established Altrincham Foodbank will be collecting all kinds of non-perishable food at Waitrose in Broadheath, on November 24.
Supermarket collections are one of the main ways that the foodbank is stocked and in the run up to Christmas.
volun teers are appealing for shoppers to give generously.
The foodbank aims to help people through short term crisis by providing three days worth of food for them and their family.
People in need are referred to the foodbank by their GP and other health professionals, the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, community workers and other similar agencies.
Those using the foodbank are also provided with support to help them combat the long-term problem.
Volunteers will be in the foyer at Waitrose in Broadheath from 9.30am to 3.30pm to collect any food donations. To find out how else you can get involved visit www.altrincham.foodbank.org.uk.
