Police urge residents to be vigilant following burglaries in Stretford
3:00pm Monday 29th October 2012 in News
THERE were two reported burglaries in Stretford over the weekend, an area where there has been an increase in the crime recently.
The first incident occurred between 5pm and 11pm at an address on Barton Road on October 26.
Unknown offenders forced access into the property through a back door, which they damaged, and stole a television.
It is not thought the owners of the property were at home at the time of the incident.
Sometime between midnight and 6am on October 27, offenders gained access to a property in Old Trafford by breaking-in through a double glazed window.
An Xbox console and some games were stolen.
No arrests have been made in connection with either burglary and enquiries are ongoing.
The Stretford police twitter account tweeted: “#Burglaries are rising in our area. Some of these are through insecurities. Please lock all windows and doors and keep an eye on neighbours!”
