Firefighters called to false alarm at Trafford General

THREE fire crews were mobilised to Trafford General hospital after a fire alert on Friday.

Hospital staff set off the alarm after smelling smoke on one of the wards at around 6.50pm on October 26.

Some staff and patients were evacuated and crews from Stretford and Eccles fire stations searched the building before it was ascertained that workmen had turned on a generator, which produced the smoke smell.
