Warm weather sparks rush for summer goods

AN Altrincham business has claimed the third warmest March on record has driven sales of one of its products through the roof.
The summer-like weather last month has seen sales of cabriolet vehicles rise by 150 per cent, according to one of the town’s car retailers.
Alister Stones, brand manager at Inchcape Volkswagen, said: “The figures show people’s buying habits can be dictated by the weather, but it is also an indication of consumer confidence in the local economy.
“We normally have a summer preview event in April, although the one currently underway and due to finish on Sunday 22nd might be more popular than usual."
