BUSINESSES which have shown commitment to providing work experience opportunities for students with learning and physical disabilities were recognised at an awards ceremony hosted by Trafford College. Employers such as the BBC, Tesco, John Lewis and Premier Inn, along with smaller local businesses such as Timperley Library and Wythenshawe Horticultural Centre, came together for the ‘Celebrating Opportunities into Work’ awards at the college.

Anita Appleton, head of department for Foundation and Supported Skills said: “We work with at least 50 employers every year. We are so grateful to every one of these businesses for recognising the skills of our learners and the many benefits this brings to their organisations. Today’s awards celebrate the benefits to everyone involved.”
