EMIRATES Old Trafford has appointed Janice Barrington-Wood as Sales Manager of the new Hilton Garden Inn which opens this summer.

She brings more than 20 years’ sales experience and arrives from the Hilton at Manchester Airport where she held the position of Sales Manager for four and a half years.

Prior to that, Janice worked at the Etrop Grange and the MacDonald hotel in Chester working as regional sales manager and revenue manager respectively.

Daniel Gidney, Chief Executive at Emirates Old Trafford said, “I am delighted to welcome Janice as our new sales manager. She brings valuable experience and knowledge within the hotel sector and will be a great addition to our team.”

The Hilton Garden Inn at Emirates Old Trafford will be the crowning glory in the Venue’s re-development plans, following on from the construction of the Point, AJ Bell Players and Media Centre and the redevelopment of the Pavilion.

The hotel will have 150 bedrooms, a restaurant, fitness centre and adjoining coffee shop.

The hotel replaces the Old Trafford Lodge, demolished in January 2016, and is due to be completed in the summer of 2017 in time for the Fourth Investec Test Match between England and South Africa, starting on August 4.

Janice, said: “I am absolutely thrilled to join the team at the Hilton Garden Inn at Emirates Old Trafford. I really feel very privileged to work at this amazing venue and it is incredibly exciting to have the chance to help launch this new hotel.

“I have settled in really well over the last week and the team here have been amazing. Nothing has been too much trouble for them and I look forward to an exciting few months leading up to the opening of the hotel.

“The potential for this hotel and venue is limitless. With international and domestic cricket, concerts and a growing conference and events business here at Emirates Old Trafford, this was an opportunity that was just too good to turn down.”
