The RRG Group celebrated its 50th anniversary in style with a charity ball.

The glittering event at the A J Bell Stadium in Eccles also raised nearly £30,000 for Bolton Hospice.

The RRG Group was formed in Bolton in 1967 by Michael Smyth when the business consisted of a workshop employing five mechanics and a petrol pump that sold 400 gallons of petrol per week.

The group now boasts 20 centres across the North of England representing seven manufacturers; Toyota, Lexus, Peugeot, Mazda, Nissan, Kia and Skoda.

It has a Toyota dealership in Altrincham.

The ball, the second that the group has organised for charity, was hosted by Key 103 DJ Darren Proctor and guests enjoyed a four course dinner with entertainment from singer Tony Benedict and nine-piece band, Under The Covers..

The Group is extremely pleased with the substantial amount raised for the local cause and for Joint MD’s Arran Bangham and Tony Cliff, it was the perfect way to celebrate such a momentous occasion - giving back to a cause close to the Group, a cause based in the place where RRG was born.

Joint MD Tony Cliff said: “We are delighted that we could host this event, not just to celebrate this wonderful milestone for us, but also to help with such a fabulous cause.”
