BOSSES at Cartwright Rentals sat they are on course for another year of continued growth.

The division’s success is in line with the rapid expansion of the Altrincham-based Cartwright Group, who are forecasting a record turnover of £130 million in the current financial year.

The Cartwright Rentals trailer fleet has increased from around 500 to more than 6,500 trailers, with the team confident of further growth over the next 12 months.

The division has invested in excess of £7 million in new build rental trailers over the past 18 months. This includes the recently launched Transdek fixed deck wedge trailer and other specialist trailer equipment, such as double deck refrigerated, tri-temp, dual temp and single temp products, as well as ambient and urban trailers (including the new Streetwise urban delivery concept trailer).

Phil Rodman, managing director of the Cartwright Rentals Division, revealed that Cartwright is the first company in the UK to offer the market, ‘tri-temp moving deck double deck refrigerated trailers’ which are proving to be extremely popular on the Cartwright rental fleet.

He said: “We are able to provide the widest choice of rental products available today in the industry and are fortunate to be in the unique position as part of a one-stop solution under the

"Cartwright brand with a diverse choice of business options from new build and rental, finance, fleet services and conversions.”

Another major development has been the launch of the new Rentals depot in Leeds in October, adding to the expanding network of the division’s sites in the UK and offering the full range of rental equipment available from Cartwright Rentals.

Mr Rodman continued: “It has been another very good year for our Rentals division through controlled expansion and we are optimistic that this growth will continue.

“We have invested over £15 million in our rentals operation in recent years and this investment in new build and refurbished rental products is now paying dividends in terms of expansion of our trailer and rental park - appealing to both existing and new customers.

“The age of our trailer fleet is continuing to reduce as we look to dispose of older equipment on the export market and replace with new.”

Phil Rodman added that the trailer rentals sector in the UK is becoming far more mature as customers have become increasingly discerning and are seeking added value, such as management information, compliance platforms, innovative technology and tracking systems.

“The rental transaction is no longer a simple black and white deal between supplier and customer. We have developed long-term partnerships helping meet the complex demands of their business.”
