AN Altrincham business has been named one of Britain’s fastest-growing private companies.

Digital signage agency Pixel Inspiration has made the 20th annual Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list, which ranks Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing sales.

It is the first time the Pacific Road-based business has been named in the prestigious league table, coming in at number 31.

The company’s annual sales growth over three years stands at an impressive 89 per cent, with sales of £6.7m in the past year. It joins the likes of Stockport-based railway constructor Lundy Projects and Knutsford-based restaurant operator New World Trading Company.

Barry Bugg, operations director of Pixel Inspiration, said: “It’s an incredible achievement for us all, we’ve all worked so hard over the last few years to drive Pixel forward.

“Our aim is always to become the UK’s No 1. full service digital signage agency, our recent achievements show we’re on the right track.

“When you setup an agency, you dream of working with leading brands and of course talented individuals. Pixels has achieved just that. I couldn’t be prouder of where we are and look forward to growing even further in 2017.”

Established in 2004, Pixel Inspiration was created by the founding partners, Frank Emerson, Nikk Smith, Barry Bugg and Darren Thomason.

The company’s vision was to become the UK’s leading implementer of digital signage and out of home media solutions. Its inclusive approach to business services led to it earning the moniker ‘The Digital Signage Agency’.

It boasts an impressive portfolio of customers, including Tesco, L’Oréal, Thomas Cook, Waitrose, Toyota, O2, Lloyds Banking Group, Argos and TK Maxx.

Its screens for Argos can advertise umbrellas when it is raining and barbecues when it is hot.

The company has 60 employees, based in Altrincham and Sussex.

Trafford Park-based fashion retailer Missguided also made it on the Sunday Times list, ranking in at number 67. This has dropped from its 2015 position of 12th. The clothing company has made £117.3m in sales over the past year and it employs 349 staff.

Sir Richard Branson of Virgin, the title sponsor for all 20 years, said: “For 20 years, the Fast Track 100 has checked the country’s entrepreneurial pulse, and highlighted the best and brightest talents emerging from the UK – this year is no exception.

"When I started up in business almost 50 years ago, the word entrepreneur wasn’t really known. Now everyone knows entrepreneurs are the job makers and innovation stimulators of the world. More importantly, many, many more people want to join the club, and change business for good.”
