ALTRINCHAM handmade leather goods business Leather & Thread has recently been recognised by Theo Paphitis with a Small Business Sunday award.

Former Dragons' Den star Theo Paphitis, said: “We are thrilled to highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK and I wish Leather & Thread every success.”

Officially launched in 2013 the business has gone from strength to strength, while still staying true to their original values. All of their handmade leather items are designed with functionality in mind and are crafted from only the highest quality, locally-sourced natural materials. They are so confident in their products they even come with a lifetime guarantee.

All of their product range – which includes wallets, purses, card holders, belts and accessories – are made using time-honoured leathercraft techniques and traditional hand tools. There are no machines in the Leather & Thread workshop; every item is 100 per cent handmade one by one and is a true labour of love.

All their products are crafted from natural vegetable tanned leather that has been produced by traditional, environmentally friendly craft methods handed down through generations. Even the thread they use is natural linen thread produced in the UK that is then waxes by hand using natural beeswax to add durability.
