ALTRINCHAM-based franchise business, Sim Trava, is expanding its apprenticeship programme and upping its learner intakes from quarterly to monthly, in a bid to support the region’s young people.

The £10.1 million Costa Coffee firm's bespoke 12-month apprenticeship scheme enables young people to earn as they learn, while also offering an NVQ qualification in customer service upon completion.

Delivering the programme through its recently-expanded Sim Trava Academy, the business has been taking on apprentices on an ad hoc basis over the past eight years and will be increasing its overall annual intake from 18 to 25.

Commenting on the decision to move toward monthly apprenticeship intakes, Tracy Vardy, director at Sim Trava, said:

“One of the core values of Sim Trava is growing our people with our business - delivering a bespoke apprenticeship programme allows us to do just that. Over the course of the past eight years, we’ve had the opportunity to welcome many talented, ambitious and enthusiastic young people into the Sim Trava family at the very start of their careers. It’s been great to watch them as they grow and progress up through the ranks.

“We want to support the young people in our region by offering an alternative to the traditional formal education route.

“So, if the sound of a highly-competitive wage, four weeks’ paid holiday, full-time contracts, access to qualifications, and the opportunity to further your career in a fast-paced environment with a growing business is of interest – then we would love to hear from you and have you join the Sim Trava family.”
