HALE-based PR and writing agency Scribble is celebrating its 10th birthday by expanding the team, as Kelly Beckett joins as writer and media researcher.

The boutique agency that works across a broad range of sectors including, children’s media, marketing, the arts and leisure was set up by journalist Helen Dugdale, after a career working for Key 103, Yorkshire TV and Sheffield International Documentary Festival.

MD of Scribble, Helen said: “Reaching Scribble’s tenth birthday is a massive milestone and one I’m proud to have achieved.

"I have big plans to grow the business and would love to open an office in Canada after living out there.

"Kelly is a strong asset to the team. She has endless creativity and is a great writer. She is a champion proofreader and ruthless with a red-pen, which is just what Scribble needs, as we create and edit so much content for our clients.

"Kelly joins myself, and Lindsey Warburton, project manager at Scribble. I’m sure there will be lots of fun to be had.”

Kelly returns to the media industry following a career as a primary school teacher. Helen and Kelly worked together back in 2001, developing content for Emap’s The ClickUK websites. Beckett went on to work for Big Brother as an online vision mixer and writer and then BBC as an online researcher.

Kelly, originally from London, but now lives in Altrincham, said: “I’m looking forward to writing engaging content and researching media opportunities for Scribble’s diverse client-base. It's a fantastic opportunity to combine my media and teaching skills whilst working with a good friend. I'm in my element.”

Lindsey Warburton who is project manager at Scribble, has a background in travel marketing and office management, and joined Scribble in May 2015.

Aside from Scribble’s PR clients, Helen is co-writing a book aimed at family businesses with a client from the packaging industry.

“We hear so many clients say they have a book in them, but they don’t have the time to do it, or any idea where to start, it’s great to be able to help them achieve their dreams.” smiles Helen, already the author of three books: Bridal Moments, The Tales of Dinki Duck and Soreen: 75 years in the Baking.

Scribble has worked with a diverse range of others clients including: the Children’s Media Conference; K7 Media; Label Apeel; Seen Opticians; Sunny Thinking; MumPanel; Sheffield Doc/Fest; Stepping into Business and Soreen.
