STAFF at Emirates Old Trafford are celebrating their success in hosting a range of top flight events over the summer.

During the month of July, more than 145,000 visitors passed through the gates at Emirates Old Trafford.

The venue hosted world-stars Rihanna and Beyoncé within a week of each other with more than 80,000 in attendance over both nights.

The venue's teams worked through the night to transform the cricket pitch to a world class music venue in a matter of days.

Just two weeks later, the stadium put its cricket hat back on and hosted another 50,000 spectators at the England v Pakistan Test Match. They saw as England continue their unbeaten record in Test Cricket for more than fifteen years in Manchester.

Four days later, Emirates Old Trafford then hosted another 10,000 fans as Lancashire Lightning concluded their NatWest T20 Blast campaign against Birmingham Bears.

And even with the venue in full swing with International cricket and concerts, the doors stayed open to host major conferences and events, such as the Construction Summit North 2016 and other major blue chip company meetings.

Daniel Gidney, chief executive, said: “To have attracted two of the world’s most iconic pop stars to Emirates Old Trafford is a testament to the versatility and reputation of our venue."

He added: “A lot of work goes into preparing the venue for events like these and with the turnaround from a cricket club, to a music venue within days, special praise must go to our ground staff and operations team who make everything appear seamless for the thousands of visitors who attend events here at the venue.”
