ALTRINCHAM-based motorcycle insurance brokers Carole Nash have announced the appointment of a new head of business support – a move aimed at helping the company reach new technological heights.

Owen Rawlinson joins from Swinton Insurance Group Limited, where he previously held the role of Senior IT Infrastructure Manager for 10 years.

His core responsibility there was to lead and manage the IT teams responsible for delivery of Datacentre Services, virtualisation, storage, operations and network services, in addition to implementing innovative IT solutions to support business initiatives and transformation programmes.

Mr Rawlinson's total career spans nearly 20 years, during which he has also worked for Topps Tiles, J.M. Computing and Associated Network Solutions.

A graduate of The University of Leeds, the 41-year-old also has a wealth of experience in managing large, global, multi-skilled teams and consequent budgets.

Mr Rawlinson has been tasked with reviewing and developing the award-winning company's internal and external IT infrastructures, with the primary objective being to develop improved processes to make the customer journey even simpler and their experience more enhanced.

David Newman, CEO, said: “The modern customer is more tech demanding by the minute and insurance is no exception.

"Carole Nash is already leading the way when it comes to online and mobile advances, yet the addition of Owen to our ranks is going to play a key part in helping us get even better. His experience and tech-savvy are second-to-none and we're very excited as to what this is going to mean for our policyholders."

"Carole Nash have been around for a long time, yet the company's technology offering is impressively modern. The team has a fantastic appetite and nous for all things IT, and I can't wait to get started", said Owen Rawlinson.
