HOW businesses can access, claim and benefit from research and development (R&D) tax credits is the topic of a workshop being held in Trafford next month.

Jointly organised by Trafford Council and accountants and business advisors Beever and Struthers, businesses are being encouraged to register for a place on the workshop. During the morning they will be able to hear from both council representatives and members of Beever and Struthers' tax advisory division.

Together with an overview of HMRC's R&D Tax Credit Scheme, attendees will secure important advice and guidance on identifying eligible business expenditure and how to claim under the scheme.

The tax relief workshop will run between 9.30am and 11.30am on Monday 6 June 2016 at the Manchester office of Beever and Struthers, St George's House, 215-219 Chester Road.

Registering is free and easy, all businesses need to do is visit https://randdtaxworkshop.eventbrite.com or call 0161 912 4176.

Trafford's Executive Member for Economic Growth and Planning, Cllr Michael Young, said: "Trafford is recognised as a key regional economic hub. As a council we are committed to supporting and assisting local businesses to ensure they continue to thrive and develop.

"Guiding them so they understand the opportunities and financial support that is available to them is a vital element of our work. We are delighted to be teaming up with Beever and Struthers, a company with a wealth of experience in this area. I would encourage all local businesses to make sure they don't miss out by registering for the June workshop."

Jacqui Adams, partner at Beever and Struthers, said: "We are impressed by the support and assistance that Trafford Council gives to local businesses and are delighted to work with them as an R&D tax credit partner.

"We know how much our clients appreciate the R&D tax break and how it has helped them financially and are sure that these claims will make an impact on the local economy."
