A TRAFFORD Business, originally set up because the owner hated ironing, is celebrating 25 years of trade.

Faddies Dry Cleaners in Hale was set up by Dr Jackie Campbell a quarter of a century ago after a successful 20-year career in the corporate world.

A trained biochemist with a PhD in Forensics and Egyptology, Jackie is one of the most qualified dry cleaners in the UK.

Speaking about the past 25 years, she said: “I originally started the business because I hated ironing shirts! I knew I wasn’t alone so hunted for a state-of-the-art shirt machine I’d seen in America.

“Now our valet service is renowned as one of the few in the country with an automatic shirt machine, tailored for drying and starching gents’ shirts to a perfect finish.

“With my background in chemistry and forensics, I really understand the science of good cleaning and am proud to be entrusted with the care of valuable and delicate items, often treasured antiques. I’ve also been fortunate to have a committed team behind me. As a result, Faddies has continued to grow.

“I am proud that Faddies continues to live by the ethos I set out with - ‘high standards and customer service’ and want to say a big thank you to our customers for their continued support - from those who use us every week, to those who just pop in now and again.”

Tracy Parry, finishing manager at Faddies, was recently awarded employee of the year in the Altrincham and Sale Chamber Business Awards. Tracy has been with the company for 21 years and was presented with the accolade for always going the extra mile for customers.
