A HALE children’s wear specialist has been announced as a finalist in a prestigious business awards for the second year running.

Pixie, in Century House, was identified as business leading the way in the independent sector at the national Drapers Independents Awards 2015.

The baby and children’s wear boutique was nominated in the niche retailer category and is a finalist along with five other stores in the UK.

Gillian Franks, owner of Pixie boutique, said: “This is a prestigious award and we are honoured to be short listed amongst a number of other successful boutique businesses.

“We are also celebrating our fifth birthday in September so the award ceremony on the 16th will be a double celebration.

“I am so thrilled that my efforts have been recognised by the industry after five fabulous years of trading and we are looking forward to attending the awards ceremony our birthday party in September! Fingers crossed.”

Pixie had to complete a rigorous application process followed by a store visit from the Drapers editorial staff.

The criteria for the judges was mix of good financial performance, a well-devised business plan and lively execution, in addition to an excellent looking store which stood out from competitors.

Pixie will officially celebrate their fifth birthday with a series of promotions and special events throughout September.
