DIRECTOR at Carpenter Rees, Mike Carpenter, has been accepted onto the prestigious Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses programme at Manchester Metropolitan University’s (MMU) Centre for Enterprise.

Hale resident Mike, who runs the financial planning company alongside fellow director, Steve Rees, was selected because of Carpenter Rees’ strong potential to expand and create jobs, as well as his leadership abilities in driving change.

The national initiative, funded by Goldman Sachs and the Goldman Sachs Foundation, is delivered in the North West by MMU. Business leaders with potential to grow their enterprises benefit from a high quality, comprehensive package of support and expertise to help take their organisations to the next level.

Mike Carpenter said: “As a company, we’re absolutely thrilled to have been accepted onto the programme and have high hopes for how Carpenter Rees can benefit from the teachings of a well-respected company, such as Goldman Sachs.

“We hope the programme will allow us to unlock the economic potential of our business by providing us with access to a combination of education and business support services, which will ultimately allow us to nurture the growth of Carpenter Rees.”

Jonathon Lawson, programme director at MMU Centre for Enterprise, said: “This selective programme is developing the robust enterprises of the future. It provides deep learning, both from the course and from the other entrepreneurs. Our students discover new ideas, new ways to do things, and new contacts that help them achieve a strategic step change and accelerate growth."
