ALTRINCHAM-based law firm, Myers Lister Price Solicitors has recruited senior litigator, Duncan, to strengthen its dispute resolution team.

Tristan primarily advises public and private companies on matters such as shareholder disputes, supply and sale of goods and services, debt recovery and professional negligence.

He also advises high net worth individuals in relation to contractual and tortious disputes as well as handling multi-jurisdictional disputes and international arbitration.

The department, led by the firm’s founder and managing director, Michael Lister, has already benefited significantly from the appointment of Tristan, who previously worked at international law firm Squire Sanders and a Manchester City Centre boutique firm.

His hire has seen the firm increase its already impressive portfolio of blue chip clients.

Michael Lister, managing director and founder at MLP Solicitors said: “Our strategy has always been to look for the most cost effective route to a quick resolution for clients and Tristan shares this view, making him an ideal fit with our business.

“His understanding of how litigation affects a business and his silky negotiating skills will benefit MLP and our clients and we’re delighted to have him on board.”

Tristan Duncan said of his decision to join MLP Solicitors: “The growth of the team reflects the increasing volumes of work that are occurring as a result of market recovery.

“We are seeing lots of clients investing in innovation and this is driving greater competition which can in turn generate disputes which clients require legal assistance to navigate. I was drawn to Michael’s straightforward approach to tackling disputes for north west clients and working for a busy and proactive firm, whose main focus is to achieve success for clients.”

Tristan qualified in 2002 and lives in Castlefield.
