FROSTBITE Refrigeration Ltd from Stretford has unveiled ambitious expansion plans.

It aims to increase trade by 400 per cent over the next three years, thanks to support from the Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub.

Frostbite supplies mobile refrigeration units that can chill or freeze a variety of items, including food and beverages, and have built up a corporate and private client list that includes ASDA, McDonald’s, the NHS and John Lewis.

Their fridges can be used to deliver cold goods, as mobile bar or catering units, and they also provide emergency on-site replacement cover should a company’s built in cold room suffer a breakdown.

Founded in 1997, Frostbite came to see the Business Growth Hub when turnover had effectively frozen and they wanted to explore new ways to bring in more business and explore new markets.

Having been bought by ambitious new owner Andrew Fowler in 2013, Frostbite began working with the Hub’s Growth team and as a result the company now has a strategy in place to enable them to grow from a £100k turnover to £500k within the next three years.

The expansion will target local government, NHS and regional organisations, extending over the three years to national and international clients.

Frostbite will also be looking to employ up to 10 more people, primarily to manage delivery, sales and administration functions and will also be funding new equipment to meet customer demand.

Frostbite managing director, Andrew Fowler, said: “Having bought the company last year I knew we had a great business model with the potential to expand.

“We work with everyone from wedding parties to the police but we just needed to be very clear on how and where we are going to focus our growth for the next three years. “The Hub were able to help us to quantify our aspirations into a tangible action plan and we are now fully on track to push Frostbite into a very positive and dominant position for the future.”

Business Growth Hub growth adviser, Yousef Taktak, said: “Mobile refrigeration is an increasingly popular option for businesses and individuals who need refrigeration but don’t want to invest in permanent facilities which they would then need to maintain and store. “Frostbite know their market inside out, having worked in the sector for 18 years, and we have been able to work with them to introduce a full plan for developing the business successfully over the next few years which will see turnover, profit and jobs increase significantly.”

The Business Growth Hub and its partners currently deliver products and services that include the Manufacturing Advisory Service, UKTI, Access to Finance, Digital Growth, UK Start Up Loans, NW Business Angels, Textiles Growth Programme, ENWORKS and mentoring programmes plus a range of networking and specialist growth events.
