AN Altrincham marketing agency has become one of the first in Manchester to sign up to superfast broadband, as £450,000 of government money will be given to help business start-ups.

The IF Agency has become involved in the long-term economic plan to secure Britain’s future by providing better access to superfast broadband.

Culture Secretary Maria Miller, who announced the government plan, said: “Superfast broadband will benefit everyone in Greater Manchester, whether they need it for work, to do homework or simply to download music or films.

“Thousands of homes and businesses now have access and it is helping people with their everyday tasks.”

Projects will now receive additional funding from a £250 million pot, with the hardest to reach locations amongst those who stand to benefit most.

Brian Rees, chairman of IF Agency, said: “The IF Agency is faster and more efficient than ever, and all our customers and suppliers appreciate it.”
