OLYMPIC champion Sir Chris Hoy hosted the official launch of the Rich Therapies treatment centre in Bowdon recently.

Guests were treated to taster sessions from therapists specialising in a range of treatments – from massage to aromatherapy to counselling.

Sir Chris said: “It’s been a fantastic evening and I’m delighted to have been here to support Rich Therapies at its launch.”

The eleven-time world champion and six-time Olympic champion took time out of his busy schedule to join the celebrations at the wellness centre, which advocates a holistic approach to wellbeing and encourages positive health and relaxation.

He said: “Rich Therapies offers far more than traditional massage and facials – it focuses on the total wellbeing of its clients through various therapeutic services. It also offers specialised treatments for sports enthusiasts, which I’ll obviously be taking full advantage of!”

Sylvan Richardson, founder of Rich Therapies, commented: “We are delighted to open Rich Therapies and are thrilled that Chris could join us to mark its launch.

“The evening has been a great success – one that we hope is echoed at the centre as we introduce our philosophies to clients throughout Greater Manchester and beyond.”

The new facility – located on Delamer Road in Bowdon – was founded by former Simply Red guitarist and Liverpool Football Club masseuse, Sylvan, and his wife Jay. Rich Therapies boasts three therapy rooms dedicated to a wide variety of treatments, from energy healing to personal training, functional diagnostic nutrition and lava shell body massage.

Rich Therapies held a raffle at event, raising more than £400 for Muscular Dystrophy Campaign – a charity close to founders Sylvan and Jay’s hearts following the loss of two of their loved ones to the disease.
