TRAFFORD Council plans to merge its 16 children’s centres into six geographical ‘hubs’, cutting management and frontline staff and making a total saving of £1,875,000.
Davyhulme, Urmston and Flixton and Woodsend children’s centres will merge to form Urmston Children’s Centre, located at Acrehall Primary School.
The same will happen in Altrincham, where Broadheath and Dunham, Broomwood and Timperley, Hale Barns and Hale and Bowdon centres will merge, and will be based at Broadheath Primary School.
Sale Children’s Centre will comprise the former Sale West, Sale Moor, Sale Central and Ashton-on-Mersey children’s centres and is to be located at Coppice Library.
Lostock and Gorsehill and Stretford children’s centres will become Lostock Children’s Centre, based at the Leithwaite Centre.
Old Trafford and Firswood children’s centres will become Old Trafford Children’s Centre, located at Old Trafford library.
Partington Children’s Centre will remain as it is, based at Partington Children’s Centre Mobile Creche.
