Hale Civic Society

THE next Hale Civic Society Talk will be at 7.45pm on October 17 at St Peter House, Murieston Road, Hale. All welcome The talk - on Hale Station and the Cheshire Lines Committee - will be given by Robert Miller, a keen railway historian.

Hale Station was opened as Peel Causeway by the Cheshire Midland Railway{CMR} on 12 May 1862, when the railway opened from Altrincham to Knustford The station became Peel Causeway for Hale on January 1, 1899, and on January 1 1902 it was renamed Hale. The station was served by passenger trains from Manchester Central to Northwich and Chester Northgate.
