DENTIST Andrew Fish took part in the North’s biggest triathlon at Tatton Park last month in aid of the Sale and Altrincham branch of MENCAP.
Support from friends and family, together with a generous donation from Altrincham Dental Practice, meant fundraising reached a total of £300.
“I wanted to support a local charity and draw attention to the important work they carry out in the community” says Andrew who recently joined Altrincham Dental Practice.
“Sale & Altrincham MENCAP on Navigation Road was suggested by Chris Edwards, the practice owner; he worked there as a volunteer when he was at school so has first hand experience of how people benefit from the charity’s vital services.”
“We are delighted Andrew has chosen to support us,” says Noeleen Kearns from Sale & Altrincham MENCAP, “We put a great deal of effort into fundraising so that we can continue to provide much needed services to families in the area. Our ultimate goal is to equip our sensory room, so Andrew’s fundraising efforts are very welcome.”
The Tatton Olympic triathlon course covered a 1,500m swim across the Mere, a 40km bike ride through the scenic grounds of Tatton Estate and a 10km off road run.
