Trafford Council extends app to Android users
4:00pm Monday 8th October 2012 in News By Kate Banks, Reporter
TRAFFORD Council has adapted its award-winning mobile app for customers with Android devices.
Over 5,000 people are already using the app to find information, report issues and locate nearby facilities since it was launched for the iPhone in 2010.
The council introduced the app to make it for easier for people to communicate with it on the move, in a manner that is convenient to them.
The app can be downloaded free of charge, and will be available to Blackberry users later in the year.
Executive councillor, Alex Williams, said the council is delighted to extend the service to Android users.
He added: “We are always looking at the most effective ways we can communicate with local people, and the app provides a really innovative tool for residents and visitors to Trafford to access information and pass issues to us wherever they are.”
Features include: GPRS, Bin Calendar, Jobs, News, What’s On and Report an issue.
