Search for lost walking stick of former sergeant in the King’s Own Regiment

AN ELDERLY man, 87, from Hale has lost his treasured custom made beech walking stick that he has used everyday for the last 15 years.

The stick could have been lost up to six months ago and this may have been in the Altrincham or Warrington area.

It is a very recognisable walking stick as it bears his army cap badge on the horn handle and there is a carved hole in the handle with a badger’s head looking out.

The man was a sergeant in the King’s Own Regiment in WWII and served in India and the stick carries great sentimental value for him.

If anyone has found it or bought it at a second hand shop or car-boot sale he would be overwhelmed to be reunited with it.

Any costs will be covered and a donation made to a charity of the finder's choice. Email georginastubbs@yahoo.co.uk or call on 0161 908 3400 with any information.
