THE RAF Association, Sale Branch held it's annual Battle of Britain Memorial Service on Sunday outside Sale Town Hall. The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Dylan Butt, attended the service, accompanied by the leader of Trafford Council, Local MP’s and Councillors.

Trafford veterans plus air cadets from 145, 318, 2448, 2137 and 182 squadrons paraded to the front of the Town Hall accompanied by the Cadishead Brass Band. A short memorial service followed, led by Rev. George Lane, in place of Rev. Ray Rossiter who was unwell.

The Deputy Mayor and representatives from the RAF Association and Air Crew Association laid wreaths at the Cenotaph and the parade returned to the Masonic Hall for a buffet and concert by the band.

Councillor Butt said “It is extremely important to remember the valuable part the RAF has played in the defending the UK.”
