Countdown to A Taste of Trafford 2012
2:51pm Monday 17th September 2012 in News
WE'VE heard through the 'crepe-vine' that there’s an extra-special treat in store for visitors to Altrincham at this weekend’s A Taste of Trafford food extravaganza … Pitta Crepe, of the Stamford Quarter, has created a unique ‘Taste of Trafford’ crepe which will be launched at the event on September 23.
Foodies looking for a sweet treat can enjoy this banoffee-inspired delight made with fresh bananas, chocolate, toffee and cream, plus marshmallow and honeycomb as optional extras.
This is just one of a variety of highlights coming to the festival this year. Others include a pop-up vintage tearoom, live cookery demonstrations, Indian street food, fresh food from local farms and handmade chocolates.
New producers and restauranteurs will join returning favourites to showcase a huge range of mouth-watering treats, and students from the Royal Northern College of Music will perform while visitors enjoy afternoon tea. There will also be music from a Caribbean steel band.
A Taste of Trafford is a celebration of the area's finest food and drink which is visited by thousands of people. This year, the festival has become an official partner of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival, a move which will ensure that Trafford's food heroes are celebrated across Greater Manchester.
