Youths set fire to hedges in Timperley

YOUTHS set fire to a tree and a hedge in two separate incidents on Thorley Lane, Timperley, early yesterday morning.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received the first call at 7.15 am, after reports that teenagers had set fire to a conifer tree with matches.
They were called again at 7.25am when a hedge was set on fire further along the road by the same means.
A crew from Altrincham Fire Station put out both fires with a hose reel, damage was limited to the foliage in both cases.
Three youths were seen riding off nearby Hargreaves Road ten minutes after the second incident.
