10:18am Friday 14th September 2012 in News By Kate Banks, Reporter
TWO friends were violently attacked on their way home from a night out in Urmston.
The men, aged 29 and 30, were walking along Flixton Road with a group of friends at around 2.15am on September 2.
One of them became separated from his friends and was approached by two males, who punched and kicked him in the face and head, his friend tried to intervene and was also assaulted.
The offenders then ran off in the direction of Eden Square.
The attackers were both white and around 6ft tall. One man was wearing light coloured trousers and t shirt and the other was wearing dark jeans and a dark t shirt with a light coloured logo on the
front.
A 16-year-old and a 19-year-old have since been arrested on suspicion of assault.
They have both been bailed pending further inquiries until September 24.
However, the investigation is still ongoing and any witnesses who witnessed the attack or saw the two men are urged to come forward.
Det Con Izzy Graham, from Trafford CID, said: “This was an unprovoked violent attack on two young men enjoying a night out with friends, which has left one of the victims with a fractured cheekbone
and jaw.”
