ZipYard Altrincham celebrates a year of success

AN Altrincham garment alteration and repair service, which counts England footballer Joe Hart among its customers, celebrated its one year anniversary this week.

ZipYard, on Lloyd Street, exceeded its sales targets by 70 per cent, which topped off an ‘amazing’ year for owner, Richard McConnell.

Richard, a former driving instructor, said: “The centre has been a huge hit with local people and we’ve taken on four more seamstresses, so we have six in total, to cope with demand.

“Some customers bring clothes to us every week and the feedback is so positive.”

To celebrate, Richard dressed as Goofy and took to the streets of Altrincham, handing out free sewing kits and cupcakes with his team of seamstresses.
 

Richard considers his business to be unique, as people would have to travel to Manchester city centre to get the same kind of service.

Customer, Claire Westwell, described the ZipYard as: “A much needed addition to Altrincham.”
