2:00pm Wednesday 12th September 2012 in News By Kate Banks, Reporter
THERE were three separate bike thefts reported in Sale this week, illustrating the recent spike in the crime.
A young boy was pushed off his bike on Carrington Lane at around 3.50pm on Sunday, September 9.
The offender then rode off on the bicycle but a witness later managed to return it to the boy.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested at his home address in the early hours of September 11 and faced a court hearing later that morning.
In a separate incident on September 6, two bikes were stolen from outside Sale Leisure Centre between 3.30pm and 4.30pm and two males were seen riding off on them.
One bike is described as a Rock Rider mountain bike with grey frame and mudguards and the other a red and white trek mountain bike with black saddle bag and bike computer on the front.
Later that day between 7.30pm and 8.30pm another bike that had been chained to the railing outside Sale Leisure Centre was stolen.
The bike is described as a brown Claude Butler Hybrid.
