Work on Lymm Interchange to begin

WORK at Lymm Interchange, which aims to improve access from the southbound M6 onto the M56 will begin on October 8, with completion in mid-November.

The interchange is at junction 20a of the M6, but due to the closeness of the two junctions much of the £500,000 Highways Agency project will focus around junction 20, about a half a mile north of the interchange itself.

Junction 20 will be subject to full overnight closures during the work period, as well as overnight lane closures on the main southbound carriageway ahead of junction 20a.

LGV drivers in particular are advised that the nightly slip road closures, between 10pm and 5am, will affect access to Lymm Truckstop.
