THE body of a 63-year-old man was found in a flat at a sheltered accommodation complex in Flixton yesterday, and it is understood he could have been there for some time.
Father of one, Eric Brown, lived at Marfield Court, on Woodesend Road South, which is run by Trafford Housing Trust (THT).
A spokesman for the trust said a daily welfare check service is offered to all THT tenants, but as an extremely private individual, Mr Brown had signed a disclaimer opting out of this.
The spokesman added: “We do not recommend declining this service but respect it when our residents opt for this.
“Accordingly, we are unsure as to when Mr Brown died and the cause of death.
“There will be a post mortem to determine these. At the moment our thoughts are with Mr Brown’s daughter, to whom we pass our heartfelt condolences.”
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said they were called to Marfield Court at 3.30pm on September 3 and pronounced a 63-year-old man dead at the scene.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
