Timperley runners raise £500 for Altrincham charity

A TEAM of Timperley runners have raised nearly £500 the Counselling and Family Centre in Altrincham.
The Friends of Counselling and Family Centre Group completed the 10k Adidas Thunder Run so the charity can provide free or subsidised counselling to children as the demand for the service
increases.
The 24 hour off-road relay race tested competitors tactics, endurance, speed and team work.
Competitors had to run across bogs, through forests, up steep hills and over open fields as part of the cross-country course.
Jo Wood, counselling manager at CFC, said: "In 2011 256 children's appointments were attended but by May 2012 we had already reached this number so we are trying to meet the demand and really
appreciate the work the Friends do for us".
The Friends will be holding regular meetings to plan and organise future fundraising events.
