Fire crews called to flash floods in Urmston, Flixton, Dayhulme and Partington

FIRE crews in Trafford received over 30 calls due to flooding as a result of yesterday’s downpour.
Urmston, Flixton, Dayhulme and Partington were the areas most affected, with roads and even some houses completely flooded.
William Wroe Golf Course in Flixton (pictured) was hit particularly badly by the flash flooding.
Rose Shaw, of Hastings Drive, Flixton, said the two houses opposite her property were so badly flooded that they have been left without electricity.
Ms Shaw said: “The carpets are up and lots of furniture has been ruined. The back and front garden is just a mud patch.”
“United Utilities, out of the goodness of their heart, came out last night and helped them bail the water out but the house is still a mess.”
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said crews dealt with a number of incidents in Trafford last night, including addresses on Carrington Road and Woodhouse Road,
Flixton.
Residents were urged to drive carefully in areas where there were large levels of water on the roadway.
