MP Kate Green urges NHS chiefs to make sure residents can have their say about hospital changes

STRETFORD and Urmston MP Kate Green is concerned that some Trafford residents haven’t yet received the consultation documents about the proposed changes to Trafford’s health services.
The document should have been delivered to every household in Trafford.
Kate said: “I’m really concerned to hear that some residents haven’t received their copy of the consultation document. It’s so important that residents are fully aware of the proposals and have the opportunity to respond to the consultation.
“I’ve written to local NHS chiefs to voice my concerns on behalf of residents. I want to know what steps NHS managers are taking to ensure every household receives their copy and knows how to respond to the consultation taking place.”
A spokesman for the NHS said “The NHS is committed to engaging with all Trafford residents during the consultation period, and have aimed to ensure, by various means, that all households in Trafford have received a hard copy of the summary consultation document.
“The NHS wants to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to share their thoughts and views on the proposal.
“From our careful monitoring of the situation, we are aware that there have been some problems with the local distribution of the documents in small pockets of the borough, and are currently in discussion to address the situation.
“In the meantime, any residents who have not received a copy of the document can contact us to request one by calling 0161 873 6048 or emailing newhealthdeal@trafford.nhs.uk Hard copies of the document can also be picked up from the local libraries and at the public meetings.”
